There are so many origami stars to choose from for Christmas but there is one outstanding modular star which I enjoy the most. It's Gary's star by Sok Song.
Simply beautiful - front and back views
Try making this one out and you will see what I mean. Below is the tutorial link. Enjoy!
Happy New Year! So fortunate to receive a photodiagram of a simple snowflake modular by Hans-Werner Guth in FB. He is a cool origamist who makes a lot of geometric models. Look at his FB link here.
Adorable
This model uses 6 units only and connecting them is really easy. There is so much wealth of information in his flickr account ... I will surely drop by and try his awesome creations soon.
Christmas is fast approaching and I have been starstruck for two (2) months now. Yep, I have been secretly folding stars to use as ornaments for our christmas tree.
Here are some of the standouts.
Cool Six pointed stars
A favourite fold designed by the japanese origamist Jun Maekawa. Encountered a slight difficulty but the result is outstandingly beautiful.
Lovely symmetry
Next one is from the lovable japanese origamist Tomoko Fuse. The fold sequence is repetitive but quite smooth and enchanting. This model looks impressive with back lighting.
Cool color change effect
This last model is by the famous modular origamist Carmen Sprung. It uses six (6) square sheets of paper and be prepared for the challenge to insert the last unit to complete this cool star.
Here is the origami diagram and you may find the tutorial below:
Among the first modular origami that I have made and enjoyed a lot was the Spiral Stars by Grzegorz Bubniak. I was immediately attracted by its colors, spiky atypical shape and the rose-like core. Even better it required only 6 (six) units to make.
Here are the photos of what I have made:
Assembling is a little bit tough but the overall beauty and everlasting joy it brings my family and friends (whom I have gifted it to) is overwhelming.
You may find the diagrams for this model here. I am also enclosing the video tutorial below:
