I found a whimsical origami model by Hojyo Takashi called "Finger Puppet with a moustache" from the Tanteidan Convention Book no 21.

Origami Creations - Cool 3D Chick
I was quite attracted by the chick model designed by the japanese origamist Akihiro Kosuge. Check this out:

| Head to toe - Awesome |
The detailing of the head and the feet is intensely beautiful. Quite impressed!
You may check out his flickr account here. He has also shared a lot of CP designs freely in his site.
Hope all of you are getting ready for Christmas!

Origami Creations - Lovable dog series continued
To continue my love for doggy folds ... I present here a miniature schnauzer dog designed by one of my favorite japanese origamist Fuchimoto Muneji.

| Uber Cute - he adores apples :-) |
His designs are quite cute yet could be tricky to fold for the first time. Once you get to understand his base fold, it will then be easy to make them.
Hope you like this one!

Origami Creations - Another Simple Sheep
In my search for another sheep model, I came upon this awesome model but with no information of who the creator is. Surely it's another cool japanese origamist or plainly a traditional design.

| Impressive color change and shaping |
Though the feet might come out to be a little too small, the head appearance is too impressive to behold.
Below is the video tutorial for this model.
Enjoy!

Origami Creations/Designs - Penguins in Mini Neo Magazine
Quite happy to see my own designs published in the Mini Neo magazine no. 20. Another simple pleasure moment - :o).
Below is the front cover of the magazine which can be downloaded here.
The penguins which I wrote about here is re-lived in the following photos below.
Nearly forgotten about these pieces. I will try to spend some time this week to diagram them and share with the world.
Take care!

Origami Creations - Maekawa Seahorse (海馬)
I chance upon another wonderful design by the famous japanese origamist Jun Maekawa. It is his seahorse.
I am very impressed by this artist as his works are very fun and exciting to fold. I have wrote about him before here. It was with regards to his wonderful squid design.
Same with the squid, his seahorse design is simple yet surprisingly unique and beautiful.
Please do try it. You may find the diagram on the 19th Tanteidan Convention book.
Have a great week!

Origami Design/Creations - Minimalist Easter Bunnies (復活節兔子)
It's the Easter Week and I've challenged myself to do something for this occasion. An obvious choice is making an easter bunny.
As I have done 3 simple origami competitions (sadly without gaining any win :o(), I have decided to try my skills on making these lovely critters.
Tada ... my minimalist Easter Bunnies.

At first thought, I was a little bit doubtful because of their short ears. But when I ask the expert opinion of my daughters, they said that they are babies so they will need time to grow them.
| Lovely Babies |
Other than this, there are indeed rabbits that have short ears. These breed is called the "Netherland Dwarf Rabbit".
| Super short yet Cute |
It was great fun and hope I was able to justice on my Easter Bunnies.
Video tutorial can be found here.

Origami Designs/Creations - Femininity and the Princess with a Stick
Femininity is the theme for the challenge and I have a week left to make up something.
Lucky to receive inspiration from my wife as she talks about the little kids in her school and the troubles she encounter when sending them to the toilet. Eureka!
Here is my entry:
![]() |
![]() |
It's a signage for the little girls toilet or for your little princess bedroom. It can also serve as a badge. Aside from posting it on the door, you can make it stand-up on a table too.
Making the arms and the head was a big challenge but still quite satisfied on how it turned out. I got my daughter's opinion and she sees a girl holding a stick to defend herself. Hahahha ... at least I got the girl right and "No Entry" or else you'll be dealt with a big stick :o).
Enjoy your week!

Origami Creations - Simple Military Tank by Charles Esseltine
The playful child in me kicked in when I saw the military tank model of Charles Esseltine. To me, he is the origamist very much well known for his car (VW bug) model. This brought back fond memories of my addiction to this very cute model. Other than the car, he does have a lot of wonderful designs readily available from the internet.
Fortunate that he has generously shared step fold instruction for this new model here.
Below is my rendition.

I had some difficulty on some of the steps and had to tweak a little bit to match the photos. But it is nice to know that Mr. Charles Esseltine gave my finished product an approval with kind comments on my photo background. Way to go!
Time to make the little boys happy! Have a great week!

Origami Creations - Fun models by Dida (Dimitris Dalas)
I had so much time to spare during the chinese new year holidays and finally had a good chance to fold some of the simple models by another talented yet humble origami artist - Dimitris Dalas (aka Dida).
His origami pieces covers a wide range of subjects with levels ranging from simple to the complex. I have yet to try his complex works but here below is my rendition of some of my favourite.
