Origami Designs - Amazing Folds by Ori-Friends

I am so very fortunate to have talented ori-friends who are so kind and generous to render their services to test fold my design drawings before I can submit them for e-publishing.

Here are some of them:

Owl in Flight -> Blog details
Long Tailed Monkeys - > Blog Details

These two (2) test folds were done by Rui Roda from Portugal.  Quite an experienced and skilled origamist and ori-designer who has helped me a lot in correcting my diagrams by providing accurate feedback/advise.  Check his flickr account and be amazed by his folds here.

Origami Creations - The Perfect Butterfly

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, she became a butterfly.

Indeed, a thing of beauty is a real joy forever!  This is why it is one of my favourite folds.

Here is a design by the famous japanese folder Yoshio Tsuda and diagrams can be found in the 11th Tanteidan Convention book.

Simple yet perfectly beautiful
It wing shape is outstanding and this model actually allows different appearances and color changes.  You should try to make this model.

I've been tinkering on my very own butterfly model ... hopefully soon I can present one!

Enjoy your week!

Origami Creations - My Anime Fold called Lisa

This is my first extensive box pleating and shaping origami model.  It's and anime character called Lisa designed by Cheng Bo Xin (程柏鑫).

She's a great looker of a Gal :-)
My fold made the original model look older.  But I am quite happy for my first try.

If you would want to try folding this, you can check the photo tutorial here.

Good luck and enjoy the challenge!

Origami Creations - Inside, we are All the Same

Yes indeed.  We are all the same inside.  The skull model by Nguyen Hung Cuong speaks for itself.  Irregardless of race, religion, social status, wealth ... we all look the same inside.

Cool model
I had to do a second try making this model because of the tricky folds on its teeth.  But it was really worth achieving success as it is an impressive origami design.

If you might be interested to try, click here for the photo tutorial for this model.

Have a great week!

Origami Creations - YODA-licioius

My japanese origami e-friend came up with a cool Yoda design and shared it to everyone of his friends in FB.  His name is Shunichi Ashimura.

Here is my fold of his design:

I had some difficulty following his photodiagram but was finally successful in forming the head.  Overall look and color change technique used is just amazing!

If you might be interested in folding this design, you may check it out from the spanish origami magazine Pajarita No. 134

Enjoy your weekend!

Origami Creations - Most Unlucky Year in Lunar Calendar

The Year of the Rooster is said to be the most unlucky year in the Lunar Calendar.  Well, for obvious reasons, its nature when feeding is to "scratch the ground and peck"

Here is a origami artistic rendition of a rooster by the japanese Gen Hagiwara.

Cool geometric forms and color combo
It's a really awesome and simple looking model but quite an impressive outlook.  I am currently doing some of my own design and I hope I can be able to come up with better ideas.

Hello June!  Hope you'll be a kinder month for everyone!

Origami Creations - Another Komatsu Favorite Fold

I've seen an eye-opening video on "Talking to Dolphins".  It is a must see for those ocean and sea loving beings like me.

They are really such a fun, loving, intelligent and adorable sea creatures and it is very well captured by the ori-model of the japanese master origamist Hideo Komatsu.

Playful and charming
You can find the diagram of this model in the Tanteidan Magazine No. 155.

Origami Creations - Who Prays to Cheesus?

I was trying to look for an inspiration for my next  ori-fold and came upon a silly image below.

It includes the spanish word "queso" for cheese and a combo word cheese + jesus.  :-).

So, a mouse it is for my next project!

Cool mouse
Here is the cool mouse model by the japanese origamist Gen Hagiwara.  A challenging and tricky model but  I really enjoyed its unique form and shaping for a standing mouse.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Origami Creations - The Eye-catching Butterfly Fish

I was so enamoured by the Butterfly fish as designed by the japanese origamist Yoshimasa Tsuruta. This fish is named as the most attractive fish in the ocean.  At times it is called the longfin bannerfish or pennant coral fish.

Cool color change and Shaping

A closer look
Isn't it a cool model?  The photo diagram tutorial can be found here.

Enjoy and have a great week.
